Tour features
Three days hiking and trekking tour from the red Imperial city of Marrakech to the Berber village of Imlil in the high Atlas Mountains. Outdoor enthusiasts on hiking or trekking tours often use the village and valleys as a launching point to summit Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain peak in North Africa at 4,167m’s. Known for its small traditional clay Berber villages clinging to the deep valley edges, the Imlil and surrounding valleys offers breathtaking beauty and spectacular scenery, both in summer and snowed-in winter conditions.
Itinerary
Day one - Marrakech to Imnan valley: After breakfast, pick up from your riad in Marrakech and depart to Imlil to start your guided hike with a local muleteer team carrying the backpacks and food up winding mule tracks to the Imnane valley. Traditional Moroccan picnic lunch under the juniper trees. Overnight with dinner at a local guest house in Imnan valley at 2,200m.
Day two - Imnan valley to Azzaden valley: After breakfast, full day guided hike to the Tizi n’Ougersiwal and Tizi n’ Oudit passes and remote traditional Berber villages. Traditional Moroccan picnic lunch under the juniper trees. Overnight with dinner at local guest house at Azzaden valley.
Day three - Azzaden valley to Marrakech: After breakfast, guided uphill hike past the Tizi Oussam village to reach Tizi n’Mezzik. Traditional Moroccan picnic lunch under the walnut trees. Continue on to Imlil, explore Imlil town on a short optional guided walking tour. Late afternoon arrival back in Marrakech with drop-off at your riad.
