Tour features
Two days sightseeing tour from the red Imperial city of Marrakech to windy Essaouira, Morocco’s famous laid-back port town and resort on the Atlantic coast, protected by 18th-century seafront ramparts called the Skala de la Kasbah. From here visitors can overlook the picturesque working port and old medina. Strong Alizée trade winds make the Essaouira beach popular for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Itinerary
Day one - Marrakech to Essaouira : After breakfast pick up from your riad in Marrakech and depart to Essaouira, start your guided tour of the port area, have a traditional Moroccan seafood lunch freshly prepared in the port, guided tour of the medina, souk and beach areas, enjoy an adventurous optional guided camel or horse ride on the beach. Finish the day with a rooftop sunset seafood dinner. Overnight in the Essaouira medina.
Day two - Essaouira to Marrakech: After breakfast, the morning is free to explore Essaouira with shopping opportunities in the souk, admire the old brass cannons lining the walls of the rampants, watch the local fishermen at work in the port, have a swim in the cold Atlantic Ocean. After lunch in the medina square, depart back to Marrakech. On the way visit a local Argan oil co-operative to watch the traditional way of Argan oil extraction. Late afternoon arrival back in Marrakech with drop-off at your riad.
