Tour features
Two days sightseeing and camel riding tour from the red Imperial city of Marrakech to the Zagora desert, gateway to the Sahara desert in Morocco at the foot of Anti-Atlas Mountains in South-Eastern Morocco. The Draa Valley (home of hundreds of thousands of palm groves) is still home to several authentic Berber tribes, preserves numerous traditional pisé clay fortified Kasbahs and old fortresses and the nearby Sahara desert sand dunes are worth exploring.
Itinerary
Day one - Marrakech to Zagora desert: : After early breakfast, pick up from your riad in Marrakech and depart to Agafay desert to embark on a guided 2-hour adventurous dromedary camel ride from the village of Tafrashte, enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch and mint tea in a local Berber village, guided 2-hour hike along the Takerkoust lake and through Berber villages, overnight in a luxury desert camp with dinner, traditional ethnic drumming, singing and dancing.
Day two - Zagora desert to Marrakech: : Guided early morning 1.5 hour sunrise camel ride, breakfast and depart back through Ouarzazate with an optional guided tour of Atlas Film Studio or Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou. Late afternoon arrival back in Marrakech with drop off at your riad.
