Tour features
Two days hiking and trekking tour from the red Imperial city of Marrakech to the Berber village of Imlil in the high Atlas Mountains. Most outdoor enthusiasts on hiking or trekking trips often use the village and valleys as a launching point to summit Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain peak in North Africa at 4,167m’s. Known for its small traditional clay Berber villages clinging to the valley edges, the Imlil valley offers breathtaking beauty and spectacular scenery, both in summer and snowed-in winter conditions.
Itinerary
Day one - Marrakech to Imnane valley : After breakfast pick up from your riad in Marrakech and depart to Imlil in the high Atlas Mountains. Guided hike with local muleteer team carrying backpacks and food up winding mule tracks to Tizi n’ Tamaterte (2,279m) overlooking Jbel Oukaimeden and encircled plateau, where a traditional Moroccan picnic lunch will be served. Follow the path down to Imnane Valley for dinner and overnight at a local guest house in Wanskra village.
Day two - Imnane valley to Marrakech: After early breakfast, set off down the Assif Imnan Valley, passing through several Berber hamlets, Tizi n’Ageursiwal (2,000m), the village of Aguersiwal, enjoy a traditional Moroccan picnic lunch under the walnut trees, explore Imlil town on a short optional guided walking tour. Late afternoon arrival back in Marrakech with drop-off at your riad.
