Itinerary

Day one-Casablanca: Arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, private transfer to your hotel. Time allowing, optional visit to Hassan II Mosque in afternoon. Late afternoon group meeting with overview of tour, followed by a “meet and greet” group dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Casablanca.

Day Two :Casablanca to Asilah After breakfast, depart to the grafittied Atlantic coastal town of Asilah, via the Imperial city of Rabat, with a short visit to the 12th century Hassan Towers and mausoleum of Mohammed V (Unesco World heritage site). Lunch along the way. Afternoon arrival in Asilah, orientation tour and walk-through of the colourful medina with its massive graffitied walls, beach and harbour areas, rest of the evening at leisure to relax. Dinner at a restaurant of your choice. Overnight Asilah.

Day Three-Asilah to Chefchaouen: After leisurely breakfast, depart to the fabulous and very famous “50 shades of blue” Chefchaouen. Mid-day arrival in the blue city, lunch, orientation tour of the colourful medina, rest of afternoon and evening at leisure to relax and explore. Dinner at a restaurant of your choice. Overnight Chefchaouens

Days Four-Chefchaouen: After breakfast, leisure day to explore the famous blue medina, visit the red Kasbah (Al Cazaba), Jewish Mella souks, colourful little shops, optional late afternoon hike to the old Spanish mosque on the Rif Mountains for sunset view, listen to live Amazigh music in the Outa el Hamam square at night from a front row seat in a restaurant of your choice! Overnight Chefchaouen.

Day Five- Chefchaouen to Fes: After breakfast, depart to the impressive, ancient Imperial city of Fes (Unesco World heritage site). On the way, visit the holy town and pilgrimage site of Morocco: Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. Locally guided tour through the magnificent green and yellow ancient medina to observe traditional local life untouched by time. Enjoy a local lunch in the medina. Late afternoon arrival in Fes. Optional family pastilla festivity dinner with dress-up and Amazigh music. Overnight Fes.

Day Six- Fes: After breakfast, depart on a 9am to 3pm locally guided tour of the narrow and busy alleys of Fes el Bali (Unesco World heritage site), visit the King’s Palace, Chouara tanneries, ceramics, copper and textile co-operatives, with opportunities to purchase authentic Fes handicrafts, ending with a stroll through the busy local markets, with lunch. Leisure time rest of late afternoon and evening to explore Bab Boujloud (Famous Blue Gate) and the souks beyond. Overnight Fes

Day Seven- Fes to Merzouga: Early 7am departure to the magnificent high orange dunes of Merzouga, through the alpine village of Ifrane, Azrou forests with Barbary monkeys, huge expanse of the palm oasis Gorges du Ziz. Lunch in Zaida village near Midelt on a family apple farm. Sunset camel safari into the desert with ample time for stunning photos! At camp, dinner is followed by traditional ethnic drumming, singing and dancing around the fire, optional star-gazing on the dunes. Overnight Merzouga luxury desert camp.

Day Eight- Merzouga village: After sunrise coffee/tea, free time to relax and enjoy the early morning on the dunes - an ideal photo opportunity, followed by leisurely breakfast. Depart back to Merzouga town via 4x4. Relax at your riad, lunch at the poolside. Late afternoon visit to Khamlia village for a traditional gnawa music show (The village is famous for its indigenous black-skinned Africans taken from Mali, Sudan and Senegal centuries ago, and their unique authentic music known as Gnawa). Medfouna dinner (Berber pizza) and overnight Merzouga village.

Day Nine- Merzouga to Ksar Aït Ben Haddou: Early sunrise coffee/tea, free time to relax and enjoy the early morning dawning in the dunes - an ideal photo opportunity! Leisurely breakfast followed by 4x4 drive to Merzouga village. Relax at the poolside where lunch will be served. Optional visit to Merzouga town, simply take in the beauty and silence of the desert or take a solitary, mindful stroll into the dunes. Late afternoon visit to Khamlia village for a traditional music show (The village is famous for its indigenous black-skinned Africans taken from Mali, Sudan and Senegal centuries ago, and their unique authentic music known as Gnawa). Dinner will be the famous Medfouna (Berber pizza) at a roadside desert café. Overnight Merzouga village.

Day Ten- Ksar Aït Ben Haddou to Oulad Berhil: After breakfast, time to explore the Ksar and Kasbah, visit the small, charming shops within the crumbling structure and have refreshments on the carpeted terrace, before departing to Oulad Berhil, with lunch along the way. In Tazenakht, stop at a local women’s carpet co-operative for a traditional carpet weaving demonstration (reputed to be the centre of finely woven Amazigh carpets in Morocco). Afternoon arrival in Oulad Berhil, time to relax or have a swim till dinner time. Overnight Oulad Berhil.

Day Eleven- Oulad Berhil to Essaouira: After breakfast, depart to the small, windy, laid-back Atlantic city of Essaouira. On the way, visit to Taroudant in the Sous Valley anti-Atlas mountains, also known as “Little Marrakech”. Free time to wander around and inside the old medina with its crumbling ochre rampants (ancient city walls) completely encircling the town. Lunch in Taroudant. On arrival, informal orientation tour of Essaouira medina (Unesco world heritage centre) and busy working harbour with its thousands of noisy seagulls, cats and blue boats, recommended fresh seafood dinner at a restaurant of your choice. Overnight Essaouira.

Day Twelve- Essaouira: After breakfast, leisure time to explore and experience easy-going Essaouira, its iconic blue fishing boats, ancient Portuguese fortress city walls, La Scala port, the old but less chaotic blue and yellow medina with its sassy cats, local markets and gnawa musicians. Optional activities include riding a camel or horse on the beach, rent a quad bike to ride in the dunes, take a relaxing stroll at sunset on the beach soaking up the tranquility, enjoy a good scrub at a hammam, join a local cooking class or take a taxi to the iconic Jimmy Hendrix Café in neighbouring Diabat for coffee or lunch! Lunch and dinner at restaurants of your choice. Overnight Essaouira.

Day thirteen- Essaouira to Marrakech: After breakfast, depart to the magical Imperial red city of Marrakech. On the way, visit a local women’s argan oil co-operative. Arriving in Marrakech, lunch in the medina, short orientation tour of the famous Jemaa el Fna, labyrinth of medina alleyways, souks and Mosques. Enjoy free time rest of afternoon and evening to explore at leisure. A rooftop dinner at a restaurant of your choice in the famous Jemaa el Fna, while opening yourself up to its noisy, busy, vibrant, and magical Marrakech nightlife is highly recommended! Overnight Marrakech.

Day fourteen- Marrakech: After breakfast, free day to discover and explore the wonders of exotic Marrakech! Visit the famous Jemaa el Fna, followed by a visit to the bustling, vibrant souks, discover the secret spices that make all Moroccan dishes delectable and delicious. Time to learn the art of bargaining your way through the magnitude of magical traditional products on offer and enjoy a fabulous day of shopping and exploring! For those interested, Marrakech offers a variety of fabulous palaces and gardens to explore. Optional organic henna hand tattoo at The Henna Art Café! Local lunch in the souks. Farewell group dinner at a local restaurant rooftop - the famous Marrakshi tangia! Overnight Marrakech.

Day fifteen – Marrakech to Casablanca Early transfer to Mohammed V International Airport in time for your flight departure schedule, breakfast at a roadside stop.
