Itinerary
Day one - Tangier to Chefchaouen: After breakfast pick-up from your hotel in Tangier for start of tour, depart through Tetaouen towards Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco, traditional Moroccan lunch in Chefchaouen square, afternoon explore of blue medina (old town) of Chefchaouen with your guide, sunset drive for view from the top of city, dinner and overnight Chefchaouen.
Day two – Chefchaouen After early breakfast, morning guided hike in the Rif Mountains, including Cascades d’Akchour and the awe-inspiring Bridge of the Gods with traditional Moroccan picnic lunch next to the waterfall. Afternoon visit to the Kasbah museum, Grande Mosque, free time to explore at leisure. Dinner and overnight Chefchaouen medina.
Day three Chefchaouen to Fez: After breakfast, depart to the ancient Imperial city of Fes through the holy town of Moulay Idriss, short guided walk of the medina with traditional Moroccan lunch. Depart for guided tour of the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, (Roman ruins). Dinner and overnight riad Fes.
Day four- Fes: After breakfast, full morning explore of the walled Fes el Bali medina (UNESCO world heritage site) with a local city guide, visiting the ancient labyrinth of alleyways in the souks, historical monuments, famous Chouara tannery and ceramic co-operative. Traditional Moroccan lunch in the Fes medina. Dinner and overnight Fes.
Day five - Fes to Ziz Valley: After breakfast head into the Middle Atlas Mountains through Ifrane, an alpine town, at Azrou Cedar forests, guided walk to view the local Barbary monkeys, optional horse ride into the cedar forests, continue through the high plains of Midelt to the palm groves of Gorges Du Ziz with traditional Moroccan lunch overlooking the valley. Dinner and overnight in traditional local guest house Gorges du Ziz.
Day six - Gorges du Ziz to Merzouga: After breakfast, depart to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi dunes via Erfoud, visit local artisan’s fossil factory, continue to Rissani, visit local souk, traditional Moroccan lunch along the way, Upon arrival at Merzouga start 1.5 hour sunset camel ride into the orange desert dunes with an experienced local desert guide, traditional dinner with ethnic (traditional North-African) drumming, singing and dancing around the fire, overnight in authentic nomad Berber tents. Optional sand boarding, star-gazing or sleeping under the stars.
Day seven - Merzouga to Skoura (Valley of 1,000 Kasbahs): Early morning sunrise 1.5 hour guided camel ride back to Merzouga, shower, breakfast and depart to depart to Tinjedad for a traditional Moroccan lunch, guided visit to Ksar El Khorbat, continue though Todgha gorge, Dades valley and gorge, Rose valley to Skoura palm grove (Valley of 1,000 Kasbahs) for dinner and overnight in local guest house in oasis.
Day eight – Skoura: Free day to relax and enjoy the palm oasis at leisure, explore the local traditional Berber villages or optional camel riding though the oasis, traditional Moroccan lunch and dinner at the guest house in the Skoura palm grove.
Day nine - Skoura to Marrakesh: After breakfast depart to Ouarzazate, optional tour of Atlas Film Studios, guided tour of Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou (UNESCO world heritage site), traditional Moroccan lunch at Kasbah, continue through the rural Ounila valley for guided tour of the famous crumbling Glaoui Kasbah of Telouet, depart to the Imperial red city of Marrakech crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka high Atlas Mountain pass. Dinner and overnight Marrakech.
Day ten – Marrakech: After breakfast, full-day sightseeing tour of the Marrakech medina historic sites and souks with its labyrinth of alleyways with a local city guide, lunch in the Jemaa el Fna square, dinner and overnight Marrakech.
Day eleven - Imlil Valley hike : A: After breakfast, depart to the Berber village of Imlil in the high Atlas Mountains. Enjoy a relaxed 3-hour guided hike in the Imlil Valleys, visit the highest Atlas Mountain Berber shop, traditional Moroccan picnic lunch in the valley under the walnut trees, after lunch Moroccan tea ceremony with local Berber family, hike back to Imlil village for short walking tour of village, dinner and overnight local guest house Imlil.
Day twelve - Imlil to Essaouira: After breakfast depart through the high Atlas Mountains to Essaouira, on way visit a local Argan oil co-operative, guided tour of the port area, traditional Moroccan seafood lunch freshly prepared in the port, guided tour of the medina, souk and beach areas, enjoy an adventurous optional guided camel or horse ride on the windy beach. Rooftop sunset seafood dinner and overnight Essaouira medina.
Day thirteen - Essaouira : After breakfast, free morning to explore Essaouira with shopping opportunities in the souk, admire the old brass cannons lining the walls of the rampants, watch the local fishermen and thousands of seagulls at work in the port, have a swim in the cold Atlantic Ocean, watch the kite surfers, lunch in the medina square. Dinner and overnight Essaouira.
Day fourteen - Essaouira to El Jadida: After breakfast, depart to El Jadida, former Portuguese Atlantic coastal city, guided walk of the UNESCO heritage sites built within the old fortified Portuguese walls. Guided walk of the port and medina, traditional Moroccan fresh seafood lunch on the beach, rooftop sunset dinner and overnight El Jadida.
Day fifteen - Depart Casablanca: After breakfast depart to Casablanca, main port city of Morocco, traditional Moroccan lunch in the souk, afternoon public tour of Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, drop off at your riad to end the tour.
