Itinerary
Day one - Marrakech: After breakfast pick-up from your riad in Marrakech for start of tour, full-day sightseeing tour of the Marrakech medina historic sites and souks with its labyrinth of alleyways with a local city guide, lunch in the Jemaa el Fna square, dinner and overnight Marrakech.
Day two – Marrakech: After breakfast, morning visit to the blue and yellow Marjorelle Gardens, lunch at the Gardens, afternoon free time to explore at leisure. Dinner and overnight Marrakech.
Day three - Marrakech to Essaouira: After breakfast depart to Essaouira, along the way visit a local Argan oil co-operative, guided tour of the port area, have a traditional Moroccan seafood lunch freshly prepared in the working port, guided tour of the medina, souk and beach areas. Optional guided camel or horse ride on the beach. Sunset rooftop seafood dinner, overnight in Essaouira medina.
Day four- Essaouira to Imlil Atlas Mountains: After breakfast, free time to explore Essaouira with shopping opportunities in the souk, admire the old brass cannons lining the walls of the rampants, watch the local fishermen at work in the port, have a swim in the cold Atlantic Ocean. After lunch in the medina square, depart to Imlil in the high Atlas Mountains. Late afternoon arrival in Imlil, traditional Moroccan dinner and overnight local Berber guest house.
Day five - Imlil Atlas Mountains to Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou: After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed 3-hour guided hike in the Imlil Valley, visit the highest Atlas Mountain Berber shop, enjoy a traditional Moroccan picnic lunch in the valley under the walnut trees, after lunch Moroccan tea ceremony with local Berber family. Hike back to Imlil village and depart to Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage site). Dinner and overnight in the village.
Day six - Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou to Todgha Gorge: After breakfast, guided tour of the Kasbah, depart through Ouarzazate to Skoura palm oasis (valley of 1,000 Kasbah’s), Valley of Roses, guided visit of local rose co-operative, traditional Moroccan lunch in Dades valley and gorge, on way to Todgha gorge pass the monkey hands mountain, guided hike along the gorge, dinner and overnight in Kasbah Todgha gorge.
Day seven -Todgha Gorge: AAfter breakfast guided hike through Todgha gorge, visit local markets, guided trek crossing the mountains to top of gorge, traditional Berber lunch and mint tea with nomad Berber cave dwellers, visit to women’s Berber carpet weaving co-operative, dinner and overnight in Kasbah Todgha gorge.
Day eight – Todgha Gorge to Merzouga: After breakfast, depart to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi dunes via Erfoud, visit local artisan’s fossil factory, continue to Rissani, visit local souk, traditional Moroccan lunch along the way, upon arrival at Merzouga start 1.5 hour sunset camel ride into the orange desert dunes with an experienced local desert guide, traditional dinner with ethnic (traditional North-African) drumming, singing and dancing around the fire, overnight in authentic nomad Berber tents. Optional sand boarding, star-gazing or sleeping under the stars.
Day nine - Merzouga to Midelt: : Early morning sunrise 1.5 hour guided camel ride back to Merzouga, shower, breakfast and depart to the high plains of Midelt through the palm groves of Gorges du Ziz, traditional Moroccan lunch along the way. Dinner and overnight Midelt.
Day ten-Midelt to Fes: AAfter breakfast, depart to the ancient Imperial city of Fes through the Azrou Cedar forests, guided short walk to view the local Barbary monkeys, continue to Ifrane, an alpine town in the middle Atlas Mountain. Free time to explore on arrival. Dinner and overnight Fes.
Day eleven-Fes to Chefchaouen : After early breakfast, full morning explore of the walled Fes el Bali medina (UNESCO world heritage site) with local city guide, visit the ancient labyrinth of alleyways in the souks, historical monuments, famous Chouara tannery and ceramic co-operative. Traditional Moroccan lunch in the Fes medina, depart to Chefchouen via the holy town of Moulay Idriss, visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, dinner and overnight Chefchaouen, famous blue pearl of Morocco.
Day twelve-Chefchaouen : After breakfast, explore the blue medina (old town) of Chefchaouen with your guide, traditional Moroccan lunch in the medina square, sunset drive for view from the top of city, visit the Grande Mosque, dinner and overnight Chefchaouen medina.
Day thirteen - Chefchaouen to Asilah : After breakfast depart to Asilah on the Atlantic coast, traditional Moroccan lunch and guided tour of the old medina with its unusual colourful graffiti painted walls. Late afternoon beach walk for a sunset view of the Atlantic Ocean, fresh seafood dinner on the promenade, overnight Asilah medina.
Day fourteen - Asilah to Casablanca: After breakfast depart to Casablanca, main port city of Morocco via the Atlantic coastal way. Traditional Moroccan lunch in the Imperial city of Rabat, afternoon public tour of Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, drop off at your riad to end the tour.
